(Hockey news) The inaugural edition of the FIH Hockey5s Women’s World Cup 2024 will begin on January 24, 2024, in Muscat, Oman, LIVE & exclusive on JioCinema and Sports18. The participation field features 16 teams including India, who will compete in Pool C alongside Poland, the United States of America, and Namibia. They’ll face both Poland and the USA on January 24 before playing their final group game against Namibia on January 25.

All 16 teams have been divided into groups of four, with the two best teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals. The competition progresses through a single-elimination phase through to the Finals, which will be held on January 27. 

The Indian Women’s Team will be led by goalkeeper Rajni Etimarpu with defender Mahima Chaudhary serving as vice-captain. The complete roster features Bansari Solanki, Akshata Abaso Dhekale, Jyoti Chhatri, Mariana Kujur, Mumtaz Khan, Ajmina Kujur, Rutaja Dadaso Pisal, and Deepika Soreng.

Pool A: Oman, Malaysia, Fiji, Netherlands

Pool B: Australia, South Africa, Ukraine, Zambia

Pool C: India, Poland, United States of America, Namibia

Pool D: New Zealand, Uruguay, Thailand, Paraguay.
