According to a press release by New Zealand Cricket, power hitter Finn Allen’s fiery 73 off 35 helped Firebirds post a mighty 230/2 and trump the Auckland Aces by 39 runs at Eden Park’s Outer Oval on Sunday. Posting their highest ever T20 total, the other batsmen that starred for the Firebirds were Devon Conway, who smashed an unbeaten 91 off 58 balls and Tom Blundell, who hit a quickfire 46 off 23 as the Firebirds dominated the Aces bowlers throughout their innings. 21 year old Allen is having a dream run at the Super Smash this season, scoring six half centuries and totalling 496 runs with a brilliant strike rate of 196.
