(Football news) The anticipation for knockout football is rising, and although all of the remaining teams’ managers will be trying to field their best squads at this point in the competition, some players will have to watch from the sidelines while serving a suspension.
A player will be suspended for one match after receiving two yellow cards in two different games, and again after a fourth caution, according to UEFA’s yellow card policy for Euro 2024. This means that if a player receives two yellow cards in the group stage, the last 16, or the quarterfinals, they will be ineligible to play in the semi-finals if their team advances.
All accumulated yellow cards are reset after the quarter-finals and players can only be suspended for the grand final on July 14 by receiving a red card in the semi-finals.
Here we provide the lowdown on every player who is suspended for the last 16 and every player who is at risk of serving a ban in the quarter-finals.
