As France prepares to host the Olympic Games Paris 2024, the spotlight shines brightly on hockey with a storied past and a promising future. Hockey at Paris 2024 will be played at the historic Yves-du-Manoir stadium, which, back in 1924, stood as the proud host of the VIII Olympiad, and hockey action will be played on the same hallowed grounds where every athlete stepped foot during the opening ceremony of the games in 1924. 

The final stage of the FIH Pro League 2023/24 season is about to get underway in Netherlands with matches to be played in Utrecht and Amsterdam from 22 to 30 June. Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Great Britain will all be in action in the men’s and women’s competition, with both titles still up for grabs!

Australia’s men came from behind twice to get the better of world champions Germany and climb above Argentina at the top of the FIH Hockey Pro League standings. The Kookaburras’ lead may be short-lived, however, with numerous teams still having several games in hand. In the women’s fixture between the two sides, Die Danas pulled off their first victory over the Hockeyroos in regulation time in 14 years in convincing fashion. China’s women also came back twice to draw with Great Britain, with the hosts then claiming the extra point in the shootout while GB’s men got the better of Spain.

The Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has awarded the organisation of the next FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup to India.

The tournament will be played in December 2025.

It will be the first time ever that a FIH Hockey Junior World Cup will include as many as 24 teams.

Four closely contested matches, which included two shootouts, wrapped up the weekend of FIH Hockey Pro League action in London as all four encounters went down to the wire.

The Hockeyroos played to a draw with Germany before beating them in a shootout while the result was reversed in the men’s match between the same opposition.

Great Britain came from behind to get the better of India’s women while there was also just one goal in it as the GB men triumphed over India.
