Paulo Dybala, who is only 31 years old, sustained a serious injury to his left semitendinosus tendon during his team’s series A triumph over Cagliari. The gifted forward has decided to get surgery in order to solve this problem and try to get back to his previous level of play following a series of ailments. The goal is to put his physical issues behind him and return to playing regularly.
In an emotional post on social media, Dybala said, “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love and support you always give me.” He also conveyed his sincere appreciation for the steadfast support he receives from his supporters. He went on to explain that, “after reviewing the results of my medical examinations and considering various options, I have decided to undergo an operation now in order to return as soon as possible.”
“Although I will be off the field for a while, I will continue to support my teammates at Roma during this crucial phase of the championship and our national team,” the attacker said, highlighting his dedication. I’ll support these qualifying matches as a fan. Then he continued, “I will come back even stronger, I promise.”
Dybala, who joined Roma in the middle of 2022, is in his third season after graduating from Instituto de Cordoba. He has made 109 appearances during his stint, tallying an astounding 42 goals and 22 assists.
The forward, often known as “La Joya,” has a long history in Italian football. He won 12 domestic championships while playing for Juventus and Palermo.
Dybala might only return to the Argentine national team for the final doubleheader of the South American World Cup Qualifiers, where Lionel Scaloni’s team is expected to guarantee their participation in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Despite his obvious potential, Dybala has been less important to Scaloni in the national team lineup because of his ailments, which have prevented him from seeing regular playing time. This was made clear by his restricted participation in the 2022 Qatar World Cup and his exclusion from the Copa America competitions in 2021 and 2024.
