BVB know that a victory will be enough to clinch their first Bundesliga title in 11 years. The Black and Yellows have capitalised on Bayern’s terrible form in recent weeks and have subsequently won 17 points from 21 available as they convincingly won against Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Augsburg by an aggregate score of 14-2. Dortmund were nine points adrift of Bayern after matchday 15, but have gradually closed the gap as they became the first team since Stuttgart in 2006-07 to move to the Bundesliga top with only matches remaining in the season. BVB boast the best home record in the Bundesliga this season, winning 14 and drawing one of their 16 matches at Signal Iduna Park which is one of the main reasons they are one step away from winning the Bundesliga

Mainz were on an impressive 10-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga which is the longest unbeaten streak in the league. Bo Svensson’s side are flying high and are in contention to claim a European qualification spot for the first time since 2015-16. Mainz are currently ninth in the Bundesliga table and can only finish in the eighth place if results go their way. With just two points separating them from Eintracht Frankfurt,they need Frankfurt to lose their last match and they have to beat a spirited Dortmund outfit who are chasing their first title in over a decade as Mainz have beaten them only once in their last nine league meetings.
