Borussia Dortmund and Lille fought to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match on Tuesday at Signal Iduna Park in an intense match. Karim Adeyemi took advantage of a clearing from a Lille corner to give the home team the lead in the twenty-first minute. He then fired a spectacular drive into the bottom corner of the net, leaving keeper Lucas Chevalier with no chance.
Lille, however, showed determination by attempting to level in the second half. Haraldsson equalized the scoring in the 67th minute after Jonathan David’s well-placed pass found him inside the box.
An exciting second leg matchup is planned for next Wednesday, March 12, at 14:45 (Brasília time) at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium in France, as a result of the draw.
