(Football news) Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of completing the signing of Daichi Kamada, as reports claim that an agreement has already been reached. Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to bolster their midfield ranks with the signing of Japan international Daichi Kamada on a free transfer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder has reached a verbal agreement with the Black and Yellows and is set to sign a five year contract and the deal could be made official soon.

Kamada will earn an annual salary in the region of 5.5 million euros as the 26 year old is expected to replace Mahmoud Dahoud, who will leave Dortmund on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season. BVB’s interest in signing Daichi Kamada has been known for several months now. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, a number of other clubs had shown an interest in signing the Japanese midfielder including the likes of FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur but it looks like Dortmund are going to win the race for his signature.

Sebastian Kehl held talks with Kamada’s agents on Wednesday and verbal agreement was met. The midfielder will become Borussia Dortmund’s first signing of the summer transfer window. Daichi Kamada is having one of the best seasons possible with Eintracht Frankfurt, as he has 13 goals and five assists to his name with 30 appearances across all competitions. He also helped Japan qualify for the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup and Kamada is capable of playing both in central midfield and in the number ten role.
