Dhoni and Kohli : one last dance?

(Cricket News) Two of the biggest legends of India and world cricket, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli might be seen taking the field together for one last time. Chennai Super Kings are set to play the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a virtual knockout fixture on the 18th of May, at the M Chinnaswamy stadium and it might well be MS Dhoni’s last game ever if Chennai fails to go through for the playoffs.

MS Dhoni, 42 said he wanted to give his fans a gift by playing this season, but is it his last is still a question, the answer to which is unknown. According the speculations and also the physical health of Dhoni, people are thinking that one of India’s biggest legend might not take the field post this IPL.

If MS decides to call it time to his career, then this would be the last time ever that the fans would get to see the duo of Dhoni and Kohli taking the field together, although as rivals.

MS Dhoni has been in red hot striking form this season. He is batting lower down the order and has been scoring over 200 in this season of the Indian Premier league. MS Dhoni also loves playing against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Some of his best IPL knocks have came against the men in red and at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.

Virat Kohli on the other hand is also at his very best. He is currently the orange cap holder in this season and has been scoring at strike rate of over 200 in the previous few games. He is also in his vintage pumped up mode and would surely be thriving to bring forward his A game against his favorite opponent.

Kohli and Dhoni have had a very strong relationship both on and of the field. They have shared some great partnerships for the country and has worked together for more than 15 long years to achieve some special things for India. Kohli also mentioned in an interview that Dhoni and he has a special bond and MS was the only cricketer who reached out to him during his worst phase that came after the onset of covid.

The game between the two sides is going to be one of the biggest games on the IPL. On one hand a win would secure a playoff spot for the Chennai Super Kings, whereas RCB needs to win by 18 runs or more, or inside 18.1 overs to enter the playoffs and make it one of the biggest comebacks of the IPL history.
