Dempo SC, FC Goa, SESA FA qualify for Zonal Group Stage of Reliance Foundation Development League 2024-25 –

Dempo SC, FC Goa, and SESA FA have qualified for the Zonal Group Stage of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) 2024-25 by finishing in the top three positions respectively in the Regional Qualifiers held in Goa.

Goa, December 13: Dempo SC, FC Goa, and SESA FA have qualified for the Zonal Group Stage of the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) 2024-25 by finishing in the top three positions respectively in the Regional Qualifiers held in Goa.

Dempo SC remained unbeaten after five games in the Regional Qualifiers, accumulating 11 points courtesy of three wins and a couple of draws. FC Goa and SESA FA followed them with nine and eight points respectively.

Dempo SC Head Coach, Remus Gomes said, “The overall performance of Dempo SC has been exceptional. We started the season strongly, although we did miss some scoring opportunities. However, the boys gave their all, and that’s commendable. The most significant achievement is that we’ve finished top in Goa. Having completed one stage successfully, we’re pleased with our performance so far. We’re hopeful of continuing this momentum in the Zonal Group Stage as well.”

SESA FA defeated the Gaurs in their final match of this stage by 3-2, whereas Dempo SC and Clube de Salgaocar played out a goalless draw.

The Zonal Group Stage will see 24 teams play 10 matches each with a total of 30 games being played in each zone, resulting in a total of 120 encounters. Top three sides from each group, rounding off to 12 teams, will qualify for the subsequent stage of RFDL 2025, that is the National Group Stage.
