On Friday afternoon, FC Barcelona formally declared that Dani Olmo will be out for about three weeks due to an injury. Following medical testing at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, the club verified that the international midfielder has a myofascial injury in the adductor of his right leg.
Olmo recently made news as he gave Barça the second goal against Osasuna. A penalty that needed to be retaken resulted in this goal. Herrera, the goalie for Osasuna, stopped Olmo’s initial attempt. The referee, however, ordered a retake because a defender had entered the box too early, and Olmo avoided making the same error twice, effectively tricking the Pamplona goalie. Unfortunately, he was injured in the 27th minute of the game, thus this happy moment was short-lived.
The Estadi Lluís Companys gave Olmo a sincere applause as he left the field, clearly agitated. His coach Hansi Flick, who was spotted expressing his shock at the circumstance, expressed his frustration. Olmo played a noteworthy 84 minutes in Spain’s most recent international match against the Netherlands, just days before this regrettable turn of events, which adds to Flick’s disappointment.
