Cubarsí Injury but Barcelona Optimistic for Osasuna

Pau Cubarsí was injured during the previous international encounter against the Netherlands, specifically sustaining a strain of the anterior tibioperoneal ligament in his right ankle.  FC Barcelona acknowledged this information on Saturday, which caused the team to express reservations over their defensive lineup.

Cubarsí was replaced by Dean Huijsen after just 41 minutes of the international match at De Kuip in Rotterdam, raising concerns for the blaugrana, who are already struggling with defensive deficiencies.  Tests have shown that the athlete has a strain of the anterior tibioperoneal ligament in his right ankle, the club said in a statement.  His conservative treatment plan will be followed, and on Monday, his activity tolerance will be reevaluated in 48 hours.

The young central defender faced injury during the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final against the Netherlands, which ended in a 2-2 draw. After the diagnosis was made, Cubarsí returned to Barcelona where he underwent medical examinations at the Joan Gamper training facility.

Cubarsí has stepped up significantly in his role, having become a vital player for Lazio prior to his selection for the national team. Despite the injury, there is still hope that he will be available for the upcoming match against Osasuna. Key defenders like Aymeric Laporte and Dani Vivian are not available, so the national coach has had to scout for emergency replacements. Despite this setback, Cubarsí’s rise has become a promising story, showcasing his growth and potential on an international stage.
