(Cricket news) After convincingly losing the first two ODIs, India are staring down a whitewash. Things are not looking good for India ever since Virat Kohli gave up T20I captaincy. India need to win the 3rd ODI in order to end a disappointing tour with some positives.
India's Possible Playing XI:
KL Rahul(C), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Surya Kumar Yadav, Venkatesh Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.
India needs to make changes in the side to give opportunities to a few players. Surya Kumar Yadav and Mohammed Siraj are the two players who deserve it. It looks like Ruturaj Gaikwad will not get a chance to play in the side. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been very disappointing in the two games and is likely to be replaced by Mohammed Siraj.
South Africa Possible Playing XI:
Quinton de Kock (wk), Janneman Malan, Temba Bavuma (c), Aiden Markram, Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Keshav Maharaj, Sisanda Magala, Tabraiz Shamsi, Wayne Parnell.
Lungi Ngidi has played all 3 Test matches and 2 ODIs and could be rested since the series is already won. Dwaine Pretorius could be given a chance ahead in the last ODI. South Africa might be looking to promote David Miller up the order as he has not got a chance to bat a lot in the series so far.
Pitch report:
Cape Town has the most spin friendly pitch in South Africa. It could be the highest scoring game of the series as it is a batting friendly track. Both teams will not be looking to change their combinations much. The captain who wins the toss will once again be looking to bowl first.
India need to be better in the middle overs with the bat and bowl. The bowlers apart from Jasprit Bumrah have been very disappointing in the last two games. It is very evident that India needs changes in white ball cricket and the 3rd ODI will be a good chance to experiment.
