KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda and Avesh Khan lead LSG to victory over SRH

(Cricket news) Lucknow Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs to get back to back wins. SRH on the other hand have both their matches so far. Kane Williamson won the toss and unsurprisingly elected to bowl first with an unchanged XI. LSG brought in Jason Holder to replace Dushmanta Chameera.

In the first innings LSG got off to a disastrous start as they were 27/3 in 5 overs. Deepak Hooda and KL Rahul both scored half centuries to rescue their side and take their total to 169/7. KL Rahul played a captain's knock as he scored 68 off 50 balls with great support from Hooda who got 51 off 33 balls. Washington Sundar bowled an incredible spell as he took 2 wickets in the powerplay. Romario Shepherd and T Natarajan also got 2 scalps each. Umran Malik proved to be very expensive as he went for 39 runs in his 3 overs.

With a target of 170 runs, SRH struggled to build partnerships along the way. Rahul Tripathi played a decent knock of 44 off 30 balls but then threw his wicket away. Nicholas Pooran was the only other batter who got going with his 24 ball 34. Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4/24. Krunal Pandya picked up two wickets while Jason Holder got 3 as SRH ended their innings at 157/9. The worrying thing for SRH is that this is their best team available this season. The performances need to be better than this, especially the batting. The captain and team management have to sort out a few things, especially the batting line-up.
