India look to seal series in the 2nd ODI against England

(Cricket news) After an emphatic and a rather one sided win in the 1st match, India now eye a series win against England. The match will be played at the home of cricket i.e Lords and England will be looking to come back to tie the series. India on the other hand will be looking to seal the series so they can give some bench players an opportunity. The 2nd match will definitely not be as one sided as the 1st one as the conditions at Lords are likely to be more balanced.

India's possible playing XI:

Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal

Bench: Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh

Virat Kohli missed the last game due to a groin injury which Rohit Sharma described as a niggle. If it was indeed a niggle then Kohli should be back for this match. It will be an important match for him as he looks to come back to form. Other than that India is likely to retain the same line-up. It will be unfortunate for Shreyas Iyer to miss out as he didn't get a chance to bat in the last match.

England's possible playing XI:

Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingston, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, David Willey, Bryson Carse, Reece Topley

Bench: Harry Brook, Matthew Parkinson, Craig Overton, Phil Salt

England bowlers couldn't get much swing in the last match. The best solution for that would be to bring in Sam Curran who is the best swing bowler England have. The England batters need to find a way to deal with the Indian seamers. The conditions will not be as seam friendly as they were at the Oval but Bumrah and Shami can do the job in any conditions. Jason Roy is having a difficult tour so far and now will be a good time for him to come back to form.

Spin is likely to be used more in this match and the battle between Yuzvendra Chahal and the England middle order will be interesting to see. The pitch at Lords will help the seamers while the conditions are supposed to be a little cloudy. The conditions will once again be in favour of the seamers which makes the toss very crucial. The series is on the line for England and it is likely that they will come very hard on the visitors.
