(Cricket news) After winning the first matches, India will now take on the West Indies for the 3rd and final ODI. India have an opportunity to inflict a whitewash but there is a strong possibility that we see the team make quite a few changes instead of going with the strongest team in search of a whitewash. In the presentation of the 2nd ODI, Rohit Sharma mentioned that he doesn't mind losing 1 or 2 games here and there to try out certain things.
India's possible playing XI:
Rohit Sharma(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul(wk), Surya Kumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Avesh Khan, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal.
Shikhar Dhawan will definitely come back into the side after recovering from Covid. Which batter to leave out is the big question and it could be Rishabh Pant with KL Rahul likely to don the gloves. One of the things Rohit Sharma said before the series was that wanted to try and get Kuldeep and Chahal back together and this match is the best chance to do so. It may finally be the time to hand a debut to Avesh Khan with Mohammed Siraj missing out.
West Indies possible playing XI:
Shai Hope(wk), Brandon King, Shamarah Brooks, Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard(c), Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hossein, Odean Smith, Kemar Roach
Skipper Kieron Pollard missed the last game due to a niggle but should be back in the side. Darren Bravo is likely to be the one that makes way after Odean Smith's brilliant performance in the last game. West Indies have a very deep batting line-up but they don't seem to bat till the end. The middle order has to find a way to stick around which will then give them the opportunity to make use of their batting depth. India on the other hand have ticked all boxes. They did get lucky in the last match with no dew but they need to be prepared for it. The captain that wins the toss will once again look to ball first to take advantage of the possible dew which makes bowling difficult in the 2nd innings. The Windies need a win to carry forward the momentum into the T20Is.
