CSK lose 2nd game in a row while LSG open IPL account

(Cricket news) After losing their opening game against Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants came back with a 6 wicket win over Chennai Super Kings. CSK on the other hand have now lost 2 out 2 games and may need to rethink a few things. KL Rahul won the toss and unsurprisingly elected to bowl first just like every other toss winning captain.

Batting first CSK managed to reach 210/7 in 20 overs. Robin Uthappa rolled back the years and played a wonderful knock of 50. He exploited the power play by hitting 8 fours and a six in the 27 balls he faced. Shivam Dube scored 49 off 30 balls in the middle overs while MS Dhoni finished off with 16 off 6. In a high scoring game Ravi Bishnoi bowled an incredible spell as he conceded just 24 runs in his 4 overs. He also picked up crucial wickets of Ambati Rayudu and Uthappa in addition to inflicting Ruturaj Gaikwad's run out.

LSG's run chase got off to a great start thanks to KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock who scored 40 and 61 respectively. Ewin Lewis came to bat at number 4 and scored an unbeaten 55. Ayush Badoni who scored a half century on his debut in the last game hit 2 sixes in the last 2 overs to get LSG over the line. Ravindra Jadeja's decision to give the 19th over to Shivam Dube who hadn't bowled a single over till then ended up being a bad decision. Lewis and Badoni hit 25 runs of that over and the game's momentum shifted.
