Corey Anderson picked by USA for the T20 World Cup 2024

(Cricket News) Former Blackcaps all-rounder, Corey Anderson has been picked up by the United States of America for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. The global event will kick off in the USA and the Caribbean from June next month.

Corey Anderson will revive his cricketing journey as he gear up for the big ICC event, but for a new side this time around. Corey has previously represented New Zealand in a total of three world cups. He was also a part of New Zealand’s dream World Cup run in the 2015 edition which was played at their home.

Corey Anderson holds a lot of experience when it comes big events and international cricket. He has represented the New Zealand national side in a total of 13 Tests, 49 ODIs and 33 T20Is. He has also been a part of 30 IPL games and is well remembered for his heroics for the Mumbai Indians playing against the Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede in 2014.

This will be USA’s debut World Cup appearance. The national side will be playing against all the World beaters for the very first time in their history. The addition of Corey Anderson will bring in a bucket full of experience and also a lot of calmness in a dressing room, which would have a lot butterflies in their stomach ahead of the big event.

The largely inexperienced USA side would be looking to soak up all the experience from their new addition in the form of Anderson as they gear up for historic feat in the cricketing journey. USA will kickstart their World Cup campaign against Canada on the 2nd of June, which will be followed by some big games against Pakistan and India. Their last league game will be against Ireland.

USA are set to play Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series as part of their World Cup preparations, starting May 21.
