Coetzee was called back home and underwent further scans and medical assessments. On further investigation and reports the Proteas Medical team has now declared him unfit for the 2 tests against the Caribbean nation. He would now undergo a period of rest and recovery under Cricket South Africa (CSA).

Uncapped fast bowler Migael Pretorius has been named as Coetzee’s replacement. Pretorious has been a part of the Proteas squad earlier as well but failed to make it to the eleven.
