Chukwuemeka Set for Dortmund Loan Move

After successfully completing his medical in Germany, Chelsea is about to finalize a loan agreement that would send young midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka to Borussia Dortmund for the next six months.

Despite a brief stint of engagement under Graham Potter, Chukwuemeka, who moved to Chelsea from Aston Villa two and a half years ago, has found his opportunities under current coach Enzo Maresca limited. Due to his lack of playing time, he was loaned to Dortmund, where he has stated that he is eager to play in the first team.

According to insider sources, Chukwuemeka chose Dortmund over other possible destinations including Porto, West Ham United, and Everton, which were linked to him earlier in the transfer season, after completing the medical.

With the option to activate a buy-clause estimated at £40 million, which mirrors his release clause and highlights Chelsea’s high valuation of this young talent despite his limited Premier League appearances this season, Dortmund is expected to pay a fee of around €2 million (£1.7 million) for this loan arrangement for the duration of the season.

Chukwuemeka hopes to rekindle his career following a spell without top-flight football by emulating fellow English players like Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho, who have flourished at Dortmund.
