(Football news) The Bees are eager to play the Blues since they have won their last three league encounters by seven points out of a possible nine, scoring six goals and giving up just one.

Last weekend, Chelsea appeared to be on track to win the London derby against an underperforming Arsenal team and secure their third straight Premier League triumph. Thanks to a Cole Palmer penalty and an odd goal from Mykhaylo Mudryk, Chelsea had a two-goal lead going into the final quarter of the game.

But in the 77th minute, Declan Rice gave Arsenal a way back into the match when he curled Robert Sanchez’s careless pass past the Spaniard and into the far corner, Arsenal’s first effort on goal. Leandro Trossard then tapped in at the back post to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Even so, Chelsea has improved under Mauricio Pochettino in recent weeks. In their last three Premier League games, they have scored eight goals and collected seven points, more than they did in their previous nine. The point they earned against Arsenal has propelled them into the top 10, four points behind the top six and eight points behind Liverpool in fourth.

If the Blues want to get closer to the European spots before the holidays, they will need to string together some winning performances. However, they have a challenging schedule coming up, with league matches against Tottenham Hotspur, champions Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Manchester United coming after Saturday’s match against Brentford.

In the Premier League, Chelsea has only won two of their last fifteen games at Stamford Bridge. This season, they have only won one of their first five home games, and they have only won two of their last twelve London derbies. Chelsea will look to change both their home form and record against other London clubs when they play Brentford on Saturday.

Although Brentford has struggled at home this season as well, they won 3-0 over Burnley, who had 10 men, to secure their first three points at the Gtech Community Stadium last Saturday.

Thomas Frank’s team moved up to 14th in the Premier League table, six points clear of the relegation zone, as Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo, and Saman Ghoddos scored goals to help the Bees break their six-game losing streak in style.

While Brentford would move above Chelsea into the top half of the standings and attempt to match or surpass their ninth-place finish from 2022–2023 if they were to win back-to-back games on Saturday, their victory over Burnley has undoubtedly allayed any concerns about a potential dogfight near the bottom of the table.

Since Brentford has lost its last three away top-flight games, they will be confident in their chances of beating the Blues, having won both of their prior two Premier League trips to Stamford Bridge (4-1 in April 2022 and 2-0 in April of this year). No team in the division’s history has ever won its first three games at Chelsea’s stadium.

Not only do the Bees have an amazing 12-game Premier League winning streak against other clubs in the capital, but they have also drawn six of these games and won six of them in London derbies. In their last three away victories, including a 3-0 victory against Fulham in August, Frank’s team has enjoyed success.
