(Football news) Chelsea were the Premier League’s biggest spenders in the summer transfer window after the takeover by Todd Boehly’s consortium and the Blues have taken a similar approach in the January transfer window. The Blues have reached an agreement with Norwegian club Molde for the transfer of David Datro Fofana and are now setting their sights on 21 year old Argentine Enzo Fernandez, who won Young Player of the Tournament in Qatar. However, his transfer price might be a stumbling block as the player has a £105m release clause and is under contract till 2027.
“Chelsea FC has reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana. The 20-year-old striker will join the Blues on 1 January 2023. We look forward to welcoming David to the club!” – Chelsea said in a statement. The Ivory Coast international turned 20 last week and could prove to be a valuable addition in attack, especially considering that Armando Broja is out for the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Fofana has scored 15 goals and provided five assists for Molde. He completed his medical last week and could potentially make his debut for the Blues at the beginning of January.
