(Football news) Carlo Ancelotti will take over as Brazil manager in 2019 after his current Real Madrid contract expires, CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues has stated.
Following Tite’s exit after the 2022 World Cup, the team’s plans have been announced by Brazil’s head coach Rodrigues. In addition to managing Fluminense, Fernando Diniz will serve as the Selecao’s interim manager for a period of one year. When his present deal with Real Madrid expires in the summer of 2024, Ancelotti will then take over.
“His (Diniz) game plan is almost similar to that of the coach that will take over at Copa America, Ancelotti,” Rodrigues said. “We don’t call him an interim coach of the national team. He will come and make the transition in Brazil for Ancelotti.”
The majority of Brazil’s prominent athletes have already stated their support for Ancelotti as the team’s next manager. Neymar stated that the Italian coach “can teach us a lot,” and Vinicius Jr. praised the Madrid coach as the best in the world and expressed his desire to collaborate with him on an international level.
Ancelotti’s alternatives have previously been mentioned in connection with Real Madrid. The club has earmarked former player Xabi Alonso, who presently oversees Bayer Leverkusen, as a potential candidate to take over in the summer of 2019.
Between September and November of this year, the Selecao will compete in five World Cup qualifying matches. The Copa America is scheduled to begin in June and July 2024, and Ancelotti is expected to have taken up his new role by that time.
