The Indian red-ball side, a team that has truly been invincible when it comes to tests at home. India last lost a red-ball series at home way back in 2012, when England outplayed the side. Since then a lot of teams have tried, but none of them even managed to come close to winning a series against India in India.

Teams like Australia and England have managed to beat India on multiple occasions, but going on to win a series against the beasts at home is still like a dream of many big sides. Bangladesh, after losing the first game in Chennai is in with a chance to bring the series to level in Kanpur, which in itself would be a huge achievement.

Since the 2-1 loss to England in 2012, India is on a streak of 17 test series wins at home, and that too dominant wins. Australia, however, has managed to challenge India to an extent with India winning the last two series with a series timeline of 2-1.

The 2nd IDFC Bank India vs Bangladesh test starts tomorrow (Friday) and Bangladesh would look to script history-breaking India’s streak. To do so, it would require a humongous effort from the Asian tigers who were completely outplayed by the class of India in the 1st test in Chennai.

The Green Park in Kanpur is often known for pitches that offer low bounce and hopefully some turn, hence it provides Bangladesh with the perfect opportunity to perform some magic, as they are accustomed to playing on such wickets back home as well. Bangladesh bowled decently during the initial phases of the 1st test and was even ahead of the game on Day 1, but failed miserably to build on the momentum. Their batters also failed to show any sort of resistance against a world-class Indian bowling lineup.

India on the other hand would be keen to make it their 18th consecutive series win at home. With WTC points at stake, the hosts would be very cautious to ensure that there are no hiccups on the way to their third consecutive WTC final appearance at Lords next June.

Some changes might be expected from both sides, who probably can opt for an extra spinner in place of a seamer given the nature of the wicket in Kanpur. Both sides have everything to play for. For the hosts, it is to maintain their record and earn WTC points, while for the visitors it is a chance to write a new chapter on the history books. Though India are the outright favorite, which team prevails in this battle would be a thing to watch out for in the next five days.
