Brazil maintain their perfect record in South America qualifiers with Argentina also winning comprehensively

(Football news): South American 2022 World Cup qualifiers have resumed and are at a crucial stage as 7 matches have been completed and are heading towards the business end of the qualification stage.With Brazil, Argentina and Ecuador all winning they look in a good position to qualify.

The Copa America champions Argentina won comfortably 3-1 against Venezuela. Messi led the side who were in terrific form heading into the match and it showed as Argentina created chance after chance before Venezuela got reduced to 10 men after Adrian Martinez got a red card for a horrible tackle on Messi. La Albiceleste took the lead through Lautaro Martinez just before half time after that it was all Argentina as they doubled their lead through Joaquin Correa and Angel Correa put the final touches for an easy victory for Argentina. Argentina with this result are in second position with 15 points from 7 matches.

The world number 2 side Brazil maintained their perfect record as they won 1-0 against Chile.Tite’s side had to work really hard to earn the victory as Brazil were missing some of their stars, in the first half both the sides were cancelling each other out but the in second half right at the hour mark Bravo made a excellent save of Neymar just to parry it away to Everton Ribeiro to give Brazil a narrow win over the Chileans. With this victory Brazil have 7 victories out of 7 matches and have evidently put one step in Qatar next year.

Uruguay were left disappointed again as they drew 1-1 against Peru. Uruguay were missing some of their key players which showed as they fell behind to Renato Tapia’s goal but Uruguay quickly equalised through Giorgian de Arrascaeta in the 29th minute. With this result Uruguay are in a tough position in the group as they have 9 points from 7 matches and currently stand fourth in the group. Columbia also drew 1-1 with Bolivia which resulted in Columbia slipping to 5th in the group as they are level on points with Uruguay
