(Football news) Bayern Munich can temporarily top the Bundesliga table even if it is for only 24 hours but they first need to win away to Hertha Berlin on Saturday. The hosts are aiming to avoid a sixth successive defeat against the defending champions. Bayern recently have been in good form as they have not quite yet managed to hunt down leaders Union Berlin at the top of the table. Both sides have played the same amount of games at least as Bayern have been in superb form since returning from the international break, winning nine out of their 10 matches in all competitions.
The only draw on that record was their 2-2 draw Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna park last month, when BVB came from two goals behind to claim a very important point, but Julian Nagelsmann's side have since responded with three straight league wins while also progressing in the Champions League and DFB-Pokal next rounds. Eric Choupo-Moting continued his fine goalscoring form with his seventh goal in six matches.
Hertha Berlin possible starting lineup:
Christensen; Kenny, Rogel, Kempf, Plattenhardt; Tousart, Boetius, Serdar; Lukebakio, Kanga, Richter
Bayern Munich possible starting lineup:
Ulrich; Pavard, De Ligt, Upamecano, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Musiala, Mane; Choupo-Moting
Dortmund can move up to third in the Bundesliga standings by beating VfL Bochum. The visitors last week climbed off the foot of the table, but they are still within the automatic relegation zone ahead of their trip to the Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund also last week moved back into the Champions League qualification places after successive league wins against Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt as Jude Bellingham bagged the winner in a 2-1 win over Frankfurt last weekend.
The England midfielder has been sensational this season and has taken his game to another level this season with nine goals in 18 appearances in all competitions, which is more than he managed across the past two seasons for Dortmund. The 40-year-old will expect his side's to continue their winning run against struggling Bochum on Saturday, as they look to keep themselves within three points of Bayern Munich while they also look to chase Union Berlin in ahead of their league trip to Leverkusen on Sunday.
Borussia Dortmund possible starting lineup:
Kobel; Wolf, Sule, Schlotterbeck, Guerreiro; Ozcan, Bellingham; Adeyemi, Brandt, Reyna; Moukoko
VfL Bochum possible starting lineup:
Riemann; Gamboa, Ordets, Heintz, Soares; Losilla, Stoger; Osei-Tutu, Forster, Holtmann; Hofmann
