Barcelona Eyeing La Masia Talent, Drop Attacker

La Masia’s success has been Barcelona’s greatest asset during a period when the team has struggled to make ends meet. Whenever the team needed reinforcements for the first team, one of La Masia’s players stepped up to the plate. This has been particularly true for players like Gavi, Lamine Yamal, Alejandro Balde, and most recently, Marc Casado, who is being considered as a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.

Barcelona is waiting for the next La Masia to blow up the scene after young Casado’s breakthrough.

In light of this, a recent SPORT story suggests that Dani Rodriguez may emerge as La Masia’s next major star.

Rodriguez, who is only 19 years old, is highly regarded in the Barcelona youth camp because many believe he possesses a skill set that very few players possess.

Hence, they expect Dani to soon start participating for the first squad, where he can be an exciting option to the likes of Raphinha and Yamal.

According to the report, Dani might even persuade Barcelona to give up on acquiring Nico Williams, a star player.

Barça is still pursuing the Spanish international, who has also been linked to a move to the Premier League, despite a failed summer transfer attempt.

On the other hand, Barcelona might not need to recruit a new winger like Nico if Dani Rodriguez makes a quick breakthrough and emulates Yamal.

Naturally, all of this is just conjecture, and Dani still has a long way to go before he has an impact on the starting lineup. For now, the youngster will be focused on making his first appearance for the senior side in the near future.
