Barcelona Divided Over Kimmich Rumors

Josh Kimmich’s possible transfer to FC Barcelona is still a topic of discussion because coach Hans-Dieter Flick is still interested in the gifted midfield player.  For any team, Kimmich, who will become a free agent on June 30, offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sign a player of his caliber without having to pay a transfer fee.

There have been no updates on Kimmich’s contract extension with Bayern Munich, despite prior reports indicating that he was close to finalizing an agreement.  Kimmich has not yet committed, in contrast to teammates like Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala, who have accepted contract offers.  Several elite clubs have taken notice of this hesitation.

The situation is being closely monitored by Premier League heavyweights Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and even Real Madrid.  Any possible transfer to Camp Nou may be influenced by Kimmich’s close bond with Flick.  Aware of the competitive environment and the enormous cost involved in such a deal, Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta and sports director Deco are considering entering the race.

Kimmich is anticipated to demand an enormous signing bonus and a salary that would put him among Barcelona’s greatest earners, even though he would enter at no transfer cost.  The team is worried about this situation; many players have stated that they would be upset if Kimmich joined, believing it is unfair for a newcomer to make more money than long-time team members.

Furthermore, there are still concerns regarding Kimmich’s ability to play football at the highest level given that he is now older than thirty.  It seems like Barcelona is more interested in his immediate effect than in his potential for the future.

In conclusion, a sizable section of the Barcelona team is also debating whether Kimmich is really needed, especially considering the midfield options that are now available.
