(Football news) Following a breakthrough on Thursday, a transaction of roughly £45 million for Moussa Diaby is now imminent, and the player is eager to play for Unai Emery after discussions with the team about the project. Al Nassr of the Saudi Pro League is also trying to sign him after making a bid to Bayer Leverkusen, but Villa are now in the lead.

The Villa staff is working hard to close the deal as soon as possible and increase their incomings within this window while still having a sizable budget to spend. In order to improve the calibre of his team, Unai Emery, who will be leading his team into Europe next season, has already added Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres.

The Premier League team has sold their vision for the club and positioned themselves in a dominant position to bring a contract over the finish line, despite the fact that Al Nassr can pay far higher compensation. As Bayer Leverkusen grows to accept the impending loss of one of their best players, they have begun considering alternate options.

The 24-year-old is already prepared to travel, and his representatives are getting ready to complete the transfer to England in the next few days. Aston Villa was always going to spend close to £200 million this summer, and with additional signings anticipated, that number may increase even further.

Last season, Diaby made 33 league appearances for Leverkusen, scoring 9 goals and dishing out 9 assists. He has received nine caps from the France team that won the world cup.
