What does Eduardo Camavinga need to do to become a success at Real Madrid?

(Football news) Real Madrid is arguably the biggest club in the world. It has been the home to some of the biggest superstars in the world. Los Blancos are known for signing the best players in the world in their prime. Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham are a few examples. One thing that is not Los Blancos style is to nurture youngsters, although there have been a few exceptions over the years.

New signing Eduardo Camavinga is just 18 years of age. The Frenchman rejected offers from many big clubs to sign for Real Madrid. The signing has a clear motive of securing the club's future in the post Modric era. Luka Modric is 35 years old and would be at Real Madrid for a maximum of 2-3 years. Camavinga is touted to take the throne from the Croatian. Replacing Modric wouldn't be easy for any player in the world let alone a teenager.

Just over a year earlier, Martin Odegaard was in line to replace Modric and within half a season he moved to Arsenal after having failed to earn his spot and get gametime. At the opposite end is Federico Valverde who has already become such an integral part of Real Madrid. The La Fabrica graduate has come up through the ranks to  earn his place in the first he. He has often found himself ahead of Modric in the pecking order.

Before even thinking about replacing Modric, Camavinga has to somehow get some significant game time this season. With Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, Fede Valverde, Marco Asensio and Isco the Real Madrid midfield is stacked. The teenager would have to make an instant impact to earn some gametime from Carlo Ancelotti. What's important is to not get frustrated and give up like Odegaard did.

Real Madrid play Celta Vigo at home on Sunday when Camavinga is expected to make his debut in the Royal White shirt. The midfielder certainly has the talent, whether he is good enough to do it on possibly the biggest stage remains to be seen.
