Trinbago Knight Riders looking for a record fifth title, Guyana Amazon Warriors start with a historic victory

(Cricket news): The ninth season of Caribbean Premier League is currently seeing records tumble in a span of 6 days. The T20 format never fails to entertain the audience as new records rain in like sixes in the death overs. Bowlers too aren’t far behind as they are also bringing in wickets and records. This year CPL and IPL will happen back to back and the audience will not have any time to rest as the T20 World Cup is also approaching.

Saint Lucia Kings and Jamaica Tallawahs are the only teams left to play their third match. Trinbago Knight Riders are looking for a second consecutive title and fifth overall as they are the most successful team in the history of the tournament.

They had the best run last year when they remained unbeaten in all the twelve matches but this year their 12 match winning streak was broken by Guyana Amazon Warriors in the opening match of this season. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have not won a title yet but have reached the finals a record five times. They will be looking to win their first title as they currently stand 4th place just below Trinbago Knight Riders. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have scored over 454 runs in their three matches, the second most overall. Their victory over Trinbago Knight Riders suggests that this time there are chances for their first title.

There are still two weeks to go for the semi final playoffs. But the records don't have to wait as Andre Russell smashed the fastest fifty in just 14 balls to set the campaign on fire as Jamaica Tallawahs demolished Saint Lucia Kings. Jamaica Tallawahs also set the record for the biggest victory margin as Saint Lucia Kings bundled out for 135 losing by a mammoth 119 runs as Russell Propelled his team score to 255 the second highest in history of CPL.
