Real Madrid travel to Mestalla while Barcelona and Atletico Madrid play tricky home fixtures

(Football news) La Liga matchweek 5 comes after Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona all had tough UCL fixtures midweek. Atletico Madrid host Athletico Bilbao after their lackluster draw against Porto. Diego Simeone might be looking at some rotation because of fatigue. Atletico were lucky to get the victory away at Espanyol and a draw against Villarreal before that. The defending champions have been far from their best this season but despite that, they haven't lost a game yet. Antoine Griezmann's return hasn't been pretty as the striker looks out of place in this side. The Frenchman even got boos and whistles by Atlético fans in their UCL game. He will have to feature against Bilbao as Joao Felix will be unavailable due to an injury. Simeone has a lot of things that need to be sorted and they need to be sorted very soon.

Real Madrid will play against Valencia at the Mestalla stadium. After managing to get a last minute winner against Inter Milan, Los Blancos face a tough away test. Valencia are level at points with Real Madrid after a good start to their season under new manager José Bordalás. Fatigue will play a huge factor from Real Madrid's point of view after their trip to Milan and now to Valencia. Star striker Karim Benzema is likely to be benched which will open up a great opportunity for Luka Jovic. Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos are still unavailable whereas Marcelo is set to return.

FC Barcelona didn't have a fixture last week so they had a lot of time to prepare for Bayern Munich. The preparation didn't bear fruit as Bayern Munich completely outclassed the Catalans. Barcelona players were run to the ground by Bayern's endless strings of attack. There will be a lot of tired legs in the Barcelona camp. Granada is a team that has recently troubled Barcelona a lot. Sergio Aguero, Martin Braithwaite, Ousmane Dembélé and Ansu Fati are still sidelined due to injury while Jordi Alba and Pedri are also on the treatment table after injuries picked up in the Bayern Munich game.
