LV= Insurance County Championship fixtures confirmed for Division Stage

In Cricket news, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the matches for the LV= Insurance County Championship Division Stage.

The LV= Insurance County Championship's month-long title-deciding phase begins on Monday, August 30th, with four more rounds of matches to be played to determine the winners in three categories.

After carrying 21 points from the Group Stage, Warwickshire will begin ‘Super September' as the Division One leaders, and will face third-placed Lancashire in the opening round of matches.

Somerset hosts Nottinghamshire at the Cooper Associates County Ground in the second round of the LV= Insurance County Championship, while Hampshire takes on Yorkshire at The Ageas Bowl.

The last round of matches began on Tuesday, September 21st, with a match between the current top two teams in Division One, Warwickshire and Somerset, at Edgbaston.

Following a vote by the first-class county chairs in October 2020, the LV= Insurance County Championship structure was changed for this season to include two phases to assist alleviate the impact of Covid-19.

The 18 first-class counties have been divided into three categories based on points earned after 10 Group Stage matches. After the Division Stage, the county champions will be determined by the top team in Division One.

The top two teams in Division One will also go to a five-day Bob Willis Trophy final starting on Tuesday, September 28 at Lord's.

Essex, the current holders of the LV= Insurance County Championship and the Bob Willis Trophy, begin this set of matches at the top of Division Two and travel to Sophia Gardens in Cardiff to face Glamorgan.

Worcestershire, who are currently in first place in Division Three, face Sussex at New Road in the first round of the secondary stage.
