Klinger resigns as Renegades coach to take up NSW Role

According to a press release by Melbourne Renegades, Michael Klinger has confirmed that he will step down from the senior coaching role for the Big Bash team after two years of service. Klinger resigned from his post to take up the job with Cricket NSW as Head of Male Cricket. Klinger said, “I am grateful for the opportunity that I was given by the Melbourne Renegades. I would like to thank everyone at the Renegades for their continued support throughout.” Klinger was appointed during the 9th BBL season and although the club was unable to reach the finals during his term, many of the club’s rising stars got valuable opportunities like Mackenzie Harvey, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Zak Evans and Peter Hatzoglou. David Lever, Renegades General Manager said “We thank Michael for his service and outstanding leadership and wish him and his family all the best for their new opportunity.” The Club will begin to search for a new coach immediately.
