Thanks to his back to back centuries against India Joe Root is ranked 2nd in the ICC Test batsman ranking, overtaking Steve Smith and Marnus Labushagne with only Kane Williamson ahead of him. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant keep their place at 5, 6 and 7. Pakistan captain Babar Azam overtakes David Warner and Quinton de Kock to claim the 8th spot.

Pat Cummins remains on top in the bowlers ranking as the top 5 remain unchanged with Ravichandran Ashwin, Tim Southee, Josh Hazelwood and Neil Wagner. Jimmy Anderson goes past Kagiso Rabada after his five wicket haul at Lord's. Stuart Broad as of now remains on 8th position while Jason Holder snatches Jasprit Bumrah's 9th spot.
