Indian women boxers continue to flourish as Pooja Rani records victory in Tokyo

(Boxing news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: Pooja Rani started her campaign with a 5-0 victory over Ichrak Chaib from Algeria in Women's Middle (69-75kg) in Tokyo Olympics. She is into the Quarterfinals which is on 31st July. Pooja Rani is one of the medal contenders as this year’s women boxing team is looking strong and in form.

This is her first Olympics and will be looking to start with a finish on top with only one win away from securing a medal. Three women boxers have started off with a victory and the last one to start will be Simranjit Kaur on 30th July. The Indian Olympic boxing contingent are hopeful of securing a few medals with the bright start so far.
