Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters FC to return to Kochi for pre-season training

(Football news) Following the Durand Cup participation, Kerala Blasters players will enjoy a well earned break before returning to Kochi on 26th September for pre-season training ahead of the new Indian Super League season. Except Alvaro Vazquez, all foreign players have already joined the squad in Kolkata and the team will spend three weeks in Kochi after which they will travel to Goa mid-October to play two friendlies.

Abdul Hakku is expected to rejoin the team after enduring a minor knock in the first Durand match while Nishu Kumar will also join the squad in the first week of October after undergoing treatment for the last eight weeks. Kumar will complete the final leg of his rehabilitation with the squad.

“We are very happy to get back to Kochi after Kolkata. It would be great to get back to where we can have our training program under control. We will be working the next 15-20 days in Kochi with some friendly games. We are happy that the new players have arrived and that we can start to integrate them within the group. Hope to have all of our players under one roof soon and prepare further for the upcoming efforts before going to Goa.” says Ivan Vukomanović, Head Coach, Kerala Blasters FC.
