Indian duo Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav qualify for archery mixed event quarterfinals

(Archery news) Olympic 2021 Live Update: Having made a lacklustre start at the Tokyo Olympics, Indian archers bounced back in fashion to knock out Chinese Taipei and book a place in the quarterfinals of the mixed event.

Despite trailing 1-3, Deepika Kumari and Pravin Jadhav held their nerves to win their third set and salvage the situation in their first mixed event together. Their fighting spirit resulted in a 5-3 victory over Chinese Taipei's Chih-Chun Tang and Chia-En at the Yumenoshima Ranking Field.

The duo will now face a tougher challenge as they will face the winner between South Korea and Bangladesh, who are making their first Olympics appearance in Tokyo.
