India Vs Australia 1st W-T20I preview: Question marks over Harmanpreet Kaur’s fitness

(Cricket news) After losing the W-ODI series and drawing the only Test, India will be keen to win the T20I series. The entire tour is played on a points-based system. Currently Australia are on 6 points while India is on 4 points. The Indian side will need to win all 3 games in order to win the trophy.

The first W-T20I will be very crucial as India will be hoping to take their momentum forward after winning the last W-ODI and dominating the Test match. India have a decent chance of winning a tour against this mighty Australian side and taking the momentum into the ODI World Cup.

India's Squad: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Yastika Bhatia, Shikha Pandey, Meghna Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Poonam Yadav, Richa Ghosh, Harleen Deol, Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh.

Harmanpreet Kaur is yet to play a game on this tour therefore there are question marks over her fitness. Australia's vice captain Rachel Haynes has been ruled out of the tour after suffering an injury.

India's biggest strength is their opening partnership which will set the tone for the side. Both the openers have been in scintillating form on this tour. Shikha Pandey hasn't got a chance to play on the tour yet but she did play all the 3 W-T20Is in England. If the All-rounder does play then there will be a lot of responsibility on her shoulders due her vast experience.
