Everything you need to know about UFC Vegas 30 and the epic clash between Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov

UFC Fight Night 190 better known as UFC Vegas 30 is a ‘heavy card’

With the main and co-main bouts being in the heavyweight, the 25 foot octagon is going to take a pounding in this one.

This card is headlined by rank number 3 Ciryl Gane who will take on rank number 5 Alexander Volkov.

The co-main event is a three rounder between Canadian Bulldozer Tanner Boser and former light heavyweight title contender Ovince St Preux.

Let's have a look at the entire fight card below:

The 6 fight card is exciting but what catches my eye are two fights: The main and co-main bouts. Both in my favourite weight division – The Heavyweight!

The heavies lately are so dynamic and agile yet packed with so much power, it sometimes feels rankings shouldn’t apply to this division. Any fighter can topple anybody and take the spot for title contention.

The co-main event will see the former light heavyweight title challenger Ovince St Preux make his return to the heavyweight division. His last 3 fights were in the heavyweight category, light heavyweight category and at catchweight (207.5 lbs) where OSP couldn’t make weight. I feel he has found his home in the HW division, however, its not an easy division to be in.

OSP would be facing Canadian Bulldozer Tanner Boser, who is having a quick turnaround from his previous fight with Ilir Latifi.

Boser however, is on a 2 fight losing skid and has a mammoth challenge of going past OSP to keep him in the fray. A loss here could see Boser cut by the UFC.

Crystal Ball Prediction: OSP gets his hand raised.

The main event of the evening is a smasher between two dynamic Heavyweights – rank number 3 Ciryl Gane takes on rank number 5 Alexander Volkov.

The Frenchman Gane seems to have the momentum behind him. As the training partner of the current UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and being undefeated are the two lucky medals on his shoulder. Gane’s last two wins, versus Junior Dos Santos and Jairzinho Rozenstruik have sprung him straight into the limelight of the UFC matchmakers. It’s a feat you cannot ignore.

Standing at 6’ 5 and 247 lbs, one cannot disregard the speed and movement that Gane gets on the table. He has 6 wins via finishes and 2 by decision makes us believe he has the ability to trade shots on the feet or on the ground. The 25 foot octagon will decide which one of these giants will enforce their strategy first.

Standing opposite Gane will be 6’ 7 inch 265 lbs mammoth Alexander Volkov. Known as Drago in the MMA world, Volkov has only shown how good he’s getting at the sport. Starting off his professional career in 2009, Volkov is just 32 yrs and has already amassed 33 wins in his 41 professional fights. Volkov’s biggest moment came in his last fight against Alistair Overeem when he stopped him via TKO in round 2. Volkov beat another top contender Walt Harris before that and his confidence is only surging upwards.

Will Drago be able to overcome the French Mastiff? Only time will tell.

Crystal Ball Prediction: Ciryl Gane gets his hand raised.
