Arthur Melo Signs with Girona FC

After a lengthy break from competitive football since May 29, 2024, Arthur Melo has officially joined Girona. It was expected that he would leave Juventus because the team had been trying to get rid of him for months. Because of their common Barcelona past, he and coach Thiago Motta maintained an outstanding friendship despite this. Melo is ready to show off his skills once more when the chance presents itself, and he is preparing hard with a personal trainer.

His career was greatly aided by his previous loan at Fiorentina, where he thrived under coach Vincenzo Italiano and was chosen for the Serie A first half of the 2023–2024 season’s starting lineup. With a 92.44% success rate on 939 passes, he displayed outstanding form and became the league’s tenth most accurate passer. It is his goal to replicate this confidence boost with Girona.

Arthur is very excited about this new phase and is pleased by Míchel’s playing philosophy and Girona’s vision. Ever before Aleix Garcia moved to Bayer Leverkusen, the coach has been actively looking for a “playmaker” profile. Arthur, who joined Barcelona at the young age of 22, is only 28 years old and has a wealth of untapped football talent. Míchel’s history of getting the most out of his players speaks for itself, and there are great expectations that he will be able to do the same for Arthur. His debut is highly anticipated by Montilivi’s supporters.
