(Football News) Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes have been destroyed by Manchester City. However the Gunners themselves are also to blame for falling off in the past month or so. Last week’s 3-0 loss to Brighton was the final nail in the coffin. However it isn’t mathematically over yet as if Arsenal win all their games and City lose all their games, the Gunners will win. It is highly unlikely but in any case Arsenal will want to finish the season on a high. The realistic target for the Gunners this season was top 4 and they have achieved that quite comfortably. No one expected them to mount a strong title challenge but they did it.
William Saliba and Oleksandr Zinchenko were already ruled out for the season a long time ago. Now Gabriel Martinelli has also joined the treatment room as he suffered an ankle injury against Brighton. The remaining two games are likely to be Granit Xhaka’s last as an Arsenal player as he is close to joining Bayer Leverkusen for €15 million. Nottingham Forest will once again be without Dean Henderson, Chris Wood, Giulian Biancone, Neco Williams, Omar Richards, Scott McKenna, Jack Colback, Jonjo Shelvey and Gustavo Scarpa. On a positive note Emmanuel Dennis is fit again and could play some part in the game.
Nottingham are playing for survival as they are still just 3 points above the relegation zone. A win would be invaluable for them at this stage while a draw would also be very crucial. Arsenal will definitely be under the pump as they don’t have as much motivation as Forest. Mikel Arteta will have to make sure that his players are hungry going into the match. The City Ground will be absolutely buzzing for this game as it could secure safety for them.
