AlphaTauri: A more “measured” strategy will lead to additional advancements in Formula One by 2024

AlphaTauri anticipates that a more "measured" approach to automobile development in 2024 will be beneficial, given that it required a major effort to stage its Formula 1 comeback the previous year.

(Motorsports news) Last season, AlphaTauri that would eventually change its identity got off to a slow start because of their car, which frequently left its drivers fighting at the back of the midfield group. After a significant aerodynamic makeover and a move to Red Bull’s rear suspension for the Singapore Grand Prix, the team managed to turn things around and eventually finished ninth in the constructors’ title.

Beyond the AlphaTauri’s intentions to become closer to sister team Red Bull and accept more customer components for the upcoming season, technical director Jody Egginton has hinted that the team can achieve more success without having to adopt the rigorous strategy that defined 2023. “Our goal is to maintain the pace of improvement we’ve shown in the second half of the year,” he stated.

The goal is to accomplish something akin to what we accomplished in 2020–2021. We only need a strong winter and to get started right away since we’ve been there before and done it. Then, although it’s never easy, our season may be a little bit more progressive. Additionally, AlphaTauri can build the car in a slightly more organized manner.

In order to succeed in Formula 1, every member of the team worked tirelessly to get everything into the car as soon as possible last year. However, we hope to adopt a more methodical and steady approach. We can also adjust the strategy we want to take if the vehicle is a little bit stronger right out of the box at the beginning of the season, and that will be a nice indicator of our progress.

While AlphaTauri demonstrated last year that it was capable of rebounding from its unsatisfactory launch vehicle, Egginton is certain that teams would be better served by taking a more methodical approach to in-season improvement. “Well, hang on a minute, we’ve been working nonstop to get back to where we want to be,” is sometimes a good thing.

“We made it extremely evident both internally and in public which of our goals we fell short of, and we had to make the necessary corrections on time. But everyone is also moving forward during the season. You must therefore persevere in getting it to where you want it for race one. “There you have it, team. Although we were able to regain it, there is still more work for us to accomplish before we can be satisfied.

However, if we continue on this course, we should be able to resemble our situation in 2020 or 2021. In 2021, we got off to a great start, had a strong season, and shown consistency.
