Carlos Alcaraz, who is only 21 years old, has broken the record that confirms his extraordinary standing in the tennis world: he is the youngest player in history to earn more than $40 million from tournaments.
With an astounding $40,231,787 (35,338,955 euros) in prize money, the Spanish prodigy is keeping up his rapid ascent in both sports and money. In the rankings of players who have reached this significant milestone, his financial accomplishment puts him just behind well-known athletes like Venus Williams and Simona Halep.
The El Palmar native has already contributed to his resume since the 2025 season began with wins at the ATP 500 in Rotterdam and the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo. He has also advanced to the Australian Open quarterfinals, the semifinals at Indian Wells, and the finals in Barcelona. Given that the season is not yet halfway through, this already stellar record is even more remarkable.
Only two active players, Alexander Zverev (52 million) and Daniil Mendevlev (45 million), outperform Alcaraz in terms of earnings. His generational adversary, Jannik Sinner, who is two years older than him, has only amassed $39.6 million thus far and has not yet passed the mark.
Even with this early record, the young Spaniard has still to come up to the renowned “Big Three”: Roger Federer (130.5 million), Rafael Nadal (135 million), and Novak Djokovic (almost $187 million).
Alcaraz is hoping to make a comeback at Roland Garros, where he will defend his championship, after being sidelined for the Masters 1000 in Madrid owing to fitness concerns. In addition to adding to his collection of trophies, a fresh triumph at Porte d’Auteuil would greatly increase his already sizeable fortune at such a young age.
