Ighalo scores two goals against Al Nassr

(Football news) Cristiano Ronaldo suffered another very frustrating night as his Al-Nassr side were again beaten 2-0 by Al-Hilal. The Portuguese star had a poor game and was outshone by a far less successful former Manchester United player in Odion Ighalo who scored twice for the victors while Ronaldo managed a yellow card and then later on got a goal disallowed.

Al-Nassr went to the King Fahd International Stadium as they were looking to go top of the Saudi Pro League, which they would have done with a win. But Al-Hilal had other ideas, as they produced their best performance in front of their own fans. Ronaldo was kept quiet the entire match before referee Michael Oliver who is currently refereeing Premier League matches as he awarded the hosts a penalty three minutes before half-time. Ighalo stepped up and tucked the spot-kick home after sending Al Nassr goalkeeper Nawaf Alaqidi the wrong way.

The second half was pretty much the same with the former 5 Ballon D’or winner frustrated while Al Hilal were enjoying the fare share of possession. Ronaldo was subsequently booked for lashing out as it appeared that he grabbed the players neck from the back. Al-Hilal were then again handed another chance to score from the spot as the former Watford striker again sent the keeper the wrong way

Ronaldo continued to be frustrated as the 38-year-old thought he’d pulled one back but VAR deemed it to be d offside. The former Manchester United legend thought he’d won his side a crucial penalty via handball when his free-kick was blocked but again Michael Oliver had to overturn his decision after a VAR review. Al-Nassr remained three points from the top but now have played a game more than the league leaders Al-Ittihad who are set to face Al Shadab next week.
