(Cricket News) Ajinkya Rahane, the star batsman for India, has been absent from the international scene for some time now. He was dropped for the recently finished series against South Africa, and he has not been announced for the first two Tests against England starting at the end of January.
Despite making an unexpected comeback to the team for the World Test Championship final and a two-match series against the West Indies. Rahane did not leave a lasting impression on the selectors.
The Mumbai skipper, who missed the first match against Bihar in Patna, returned to lead the 41-time champion side against Andhra at his home ground in BKC.
He failed to open his account, getting out for a duck off Nitish Kumar Reddy in the one innings that he played, while the hosts grabbed their second consecutive bonus, winning convincingly. The star batter is currently playing first-class cricket in an attempt to earn a spot back in the national team’s dressing room.
