(Football news) The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is approaching, and it promises to be a month of captivating football starting from January 14th to February 11th, 2024. AFCON 2023 is set to be a spectacle worthy of its reputation as the pinnacle of African football.
This week, the Ivory Coast hosts the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where 24 teams compete for the title of African champions. The teams to watch out include Morocco – who will be confident coming off a fantastic World Cup, Egypt, with the talismanic Mo Salah, Senegal, Algeria, Ivory Coast, and Nigeria. A number of formidable teams will face off in the group stages, including Senegal, and Cameroon in Group C, Egypt and Ghana in Group B, and Nigeria and Ivory Coast in Group A.
This is expected to be the biggest AFCON competition ever, with superstars Victor Osimhen, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Mohammed Kudus, Achraf Hakimi, and Andre Onana among the talents in action.
