AC Milan host Chelsea in crucial Champions League Group E tie

(Football news) Group E is becoming some sort of a group of death in the UCL this season. The leaders against the odds are RB Salzburg with 5 points. After last week's 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are now level with AC Milan on 4 points. Last positioned Dinamo Zagreb are on 3 points and could still make it to the knockouts. Tonight Chelsea will be taking on AC Milan at the San Siro and a win would cement their place in the group. AC Milan won the Serie A last season but failed to get out of their UCL group. This time around they can't afford to miss out on the UCL knockouts again as they haven't made it past the UCL group stage since the 2013/14 season.

Chelsea are having a very tricky season, having sacked Thomas Tuchel. New manager Graham Potter is just about settling into the club. The Blues come into the game having won their last two games by 3-0. Chelsea will be without N'Golo Kante who is still injured while Hakim Ziyech has also been left out of the squad due to a fitness issue. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James were both rested in the game against Wolves but both are expected to come back into the line-up.  A win at the San Siro would be a big statement by both Potter and Chelsea but the iconic stadium is guaranteed to be incredibly hostile.

AC Milan recovered well from their loss at Stamford Bridge to win 2-0 against Juventus. The Rossoneri are currently 5th in the Serie A table which is a little worrying. One of the reasons for that is the long list of injuries in their squad. Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Junior Messias, Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers are all out of contention with injuries. Milan's biggest problem will be their former player Aubameyang who has been in decent form since returning to London. Chelsea academy graduate Fikayo Tomori will be given the task of keeping Aubameyang quiet.
