AC Milan face a stern test at Bergamo, Inter take on Spezia at home

(Football news) Both Inter Milan and Spezia won their first match as they meet at San Siro on Saturday evening, seeking to extend their perfect start. While the hosts are aiming to go one better after finishing runners-up last season. They escaped with a last-gasp win at Lecce as It may have required the last kick off the game to get them there. Inter began their quest to retain the Scudetto with a victory when substitute Denzel Dumfries turned in a stoppage-time winner to add to Romelu Lukaku's second-minute opener.

The Nerazzurri controlled large parts of the game at the Stadio Via del Mare but couldn’t really show their assertiveness. After finishing second last season, Inter quickly brought Lukaku back to the club and the Belgian striker has rekindled his potent partnership with Lautaro Martinez up front. Inter have lost only two of their last 36 league matches at the San Siro, the record stretches back to the end of last season. Inzaghi's men have also won nine of their last 10 in Serie A matches, though that one defeat in that sequence effectively cost them the title and it was against Spezia. Inter are unbeaten in all six matches baring the previous encounter with Spezia in either Serie A or the Coppa Italia, as have scored 16 goals and conceded only four in the process.

Inter Milan possible starting lineup:

Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, A. Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Gosens; Martinez, Lukaku

Spezia possible starting lineup:

Dragowski; Caldara, Kiwior, Nikolaou; Gyasi, Bourabia, Ekdal, S. Bastoni, Reca; Verde, Nzola

This is comfortably the best matchup of the weekend as Atalanta host defending champions AC Milan, whose attack looked deadly when it was spearheaded by Rebić’s two goals. The Rossoneri however looked vulnerable in defense and will be hoping to get back to the same defensive stability as last season and also right the wrongs of its opening day win. Atalanta on the other hand saw off Sampdoria 2-0 with goals scored by Rafael Tolói and new signing Ademola Lookman. With a host of talents in the starting lineup, such as Luis Muriel, Duván Zapata and Mario Pašalić, Atalanta could be a dangerous team on the break and manager Gian Piero Gasperini will be doing all he can to ensure Milan don’t get the crucial three points
