Here’s why SKY and Virat make the best T20 partnership in the world

(Cricket news) Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli may not have batted with each other for a long time but the pair are one heck of a combination. Virat Kohli was the captain when Suryakumar Yadav made his international debut and the partnership has since grown leaps and bounds. In the Asia Cup and in the World Cup so far the two have been incredible. Kohli at 3 and SKY at 4 is a sight that the opposition bowlers fear before a match. India's hopes of winning the trophy will be dependent on the two as they are expected to get majority of the runs for their side. The partnership between Kohli and Suryakumar may well be the best partnership in T20 cricket.

It's not just the fact that they score runs but it is about how they score their runs. The two seem to have such a brilliant understanding with each other. Virat Kohli has always been lightning quick between the wickets, he usually gets more runs by stealing quick 1s, 2s and 3s than by boundaries. Suryakumar Yadav is also pretty quick and understands that aspect of the game. If India get off to a flying start then both of them start going hard but if they don't Kohli usually plays the anchor while SKY lets loose. After securing some stability Kohli also starts going and if Suryakumar Yadav gets out then Kohli strike rate also goes up.

The two have well and truly nailed the intricacies of a partnership dynamic in T20 cricket. After the game against Netherlands, Ravi Shastri said that Suryakumar Yadav is a 3 format player and should be given a chance in Test cricket. He may have a point as Suryakumar Yadav's unorthodox style could be useful against the red ball. Watching Kohli and SKY batting in other formats will be interesting to watch as the dynamics will change a little. Right now the two will be focused on delivering the T20 World Cup trophy with more of their match winning partnerships. India's next game is an important one against South Africa at the SCG.
